An Introduction to the ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE  with Binni King Vamos Old School Starting Friday 2nd May for 8 weeks HOW TO USE YOUR BODY WITHOUT STRESS During eight one-hour sessions you will be able to learn the Alexander Principles as set out by Frederick Matthias Alexander Eight one-hour sessions. Total cost 50 euros (payable on starting the course). Mornings starting Friday 2nd May 11am - 12 pm at the old school in Vamos Old Town (behind Saint Yiorgos church). PBinni King completed a three year full time Alexander Technique Teaching Course at Dartington, Totnes, S. Devon (1989-1991). For the next fifteen years she gave private lessons in the Cheshire and Greater Manchester area, working from various clinics. She also taught groups of people in Adult Education Colleges in Mid - and South Cheshire. Binni also teaches privately on a one to one basis here on Crete. Directions to the Newberys: Drive to the Taverna next to the main square in Kokkino Chorio. Look to your right and take the road out of the square between the church and the salmon pink three storey house. Wind along the road , do not turn off. PASS the turning for the St. Georges retreat, still keep winding along the main road. You will come almost out of the village. On the right is two Sulo bins, to your left is a road that leads back down to the sea, DONT take that road. Drive past the bins and up a steep tarmac section of road, slightly left. Pass two sloped roof houses on your left, keep going. Pass 1 long stone house on your left keep going.  Look across to your right, there is a turning to 2 houses and three little bungalows, with building behind, do NOT take that turning. Pass by a greek pinkish house, look over to your left, ahead. There are two houses on the left, on a bend in the road, one a white house with sash square windows, BEHIND a cream house with a curved back. The curved back cream house is Jane Newbery's There is ample parking, drive down the drive directly after the white front house. There is a sign over the Maroon hand gate ASPHODEL.  There will be signs along the road from the sulo bins reading "Clothes Sale" Jane says "it seems long but people do get here!"
QUALITY SECOND-HAND CLOTHES SALE  FRIDAY 18th APRIL 10.30am-3pm The Newbery's house, Kokkino Horio  Quality Second-hand Clothes at Jane & Roger Newbery's home in Kokkino Horio on Friday 18th April from 10.30am-3pm Money raised will go to various local charities and good causes. The charities and amounts will be confirmed after the sale. The Apkoronas Craft Guild will also be running a café, a food stall and a crafts stall on the day with all proceeds going to their chosen charities. They will be offering lunches, snacks, teas and coffees. There will also be a bar and a man-creche! We are very happy to receive donations of clothes, footwear, accessories, bags and jewellery which you no longer need but which are still in good condition. Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June, at Vamos Amphitheatre. An hilarious play, set in 1965 centering on 2 couples that share a well guarded secret. Misunderstandings abound with much confusion. The audience will be aware of the secret well before the characters themselves.
